Hi, I'm Louise, Lulu to my friends. I am a wife and mother to four boys aged 12 to 25 and I bake from my small kitchen close to the centre of Oxford.
I have baked for as long as I can remember. My mother was a professional cake maker and I learnt my baking skills from her. Continuing the tradition, my boys all cook and bake although they are never happier when I need to test a new recipe out on them.
We lived in France for many years and it was there that I learnt so many skills from not only the local patisseries but also my lovely French neighbours who happily passed down their own family baking secrets. The most valuable lesson I learnt was that only the very best ingredients and the very best techniques make the very best cakes.
With a background in packaging design I understand the principles of eating with the eye so it is important to me that not only do my cakes taste delicious, they look the part too.
